Barrel Leg Jeans - Spring Trend

She had a favourite pair of jeans.

Everyone did, surely.

Hers were soft in all the right places, slightly faded at the knees and had been washed so many times they practically knew the shape of her before she stepped into them.

They were her Saturday jeans.

Coffee. Groceries. A wander through the shops. Lunch if someone called at the last minute.

Reliable.

Then came the barrel-leg jean.

She had seen them everywhere lately. On mannequins. In shop windows. On women who somehow made the slightly curved leg look completely effortless. She wasn't convinced. In fact, the first time she held a pair up in the change room, she laughed.

Absolutely not.

They looked... wide.

Different.

And she wasn't entirely sure she needed her jeans to be either.

Still, she tried them on.

She turned sideways.

Then the other way.

Tucked in her white T-shirt. Added a belt. Rolled the hem slightly and slipped on her favourite flats.

Oh.

That changed things.

She looked like herself. Just... a little more current.

And perhaps that was the point. She didn't need a new style. She just needed to have a little fun with the one she already had.

That Saturday, her faithful old jeans stayed folded in the wardrobe.

The barrel legs went out for coffee.

And, she had to admit, they looked rather good doing it.
