WOULD YOU DARE? FUN FASHION.

She was the kind of woman who never looked anything less than immaculate. Tailored suits. Perfectly styled hair. Beautiful jewellery. And a fabulous pair of high heels. Every detail considered.

And yet, here she was, on her hands and knees, crawling across the carpet of someone else's executive office.

Her black tassel earring was missing.

Just one.

Ten minutes earlier, she'd been sitting on the elegant cream sofa, negotiating a multimillion dollar deal. Now, while everyone had stepped into the adjoining meeting room for their final comments, she was desperately searching beneath the sofa. They would be back any minute now.

Nothing.

Off came one high heel as she dropped to the floor, stretched her arm beneath the sofa and raised her bottom high into the air.

What a sight!

Rrrrrip. She froze. Her stockings had caught on the carpet. A beautiful ladder now ran from her knee towards her thigh.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!"

She searched beneath the sofa again, checked behind the cushions and even inspected the legs of the coffee table.

Nothing. Then came the tantrum.

She threw a cushion across the sofa, grabbed her discarded snakeskin-patterned high heel and raised it above her head, ready to launch it across the room. For one glorious second, she considered it.

Instead, she let out an enormous sigh, stamped her stockinged foot and flung her free hand into the air.

"WHERE IS THAT EARRING?"

Finally, she stood, planted her hands firmly on her hips, heel still dangling from one hand, and glared at her reflection in the dusty, ashy looking mirror.

"If only they could see you now!"

The door opened.

Instantly, she dropped her high heel to the floor, slid her foot into it, straightened her jacket, smoothed her skirt, ignored the growing ladder in her stockings and swept her hair over the ear missing its earring.

"Congratulations!" announced the returning executives. "The deal is in motion."

She smiled confidently, shook hands and gathered her belongings.

As she reached the door, the gentleman whose office it was extended his hand. Resting in his palm was her black tassel earring.

"Found it," he said simply.

She smiled, thanked him and stepped into the corridor.

Strangely, several employees were smiling as she passed. One gentleman appeared to be suppressing a laugh.

Then she saw it.

Through the glass wall of the adjoining meeting room, she recognised the office she'd just left. And the dusty, ashy mirror. Except it wasn't a mirror.

It was reflective glass.

The entire meeting room had been watching. Every crawl. Her bottom in the air. Heel off. The flying cushion. The almost airborne shoe. The tantrum. And her little frustrated speech to herself.

She closed her eyes for one deliciously embarrassing second.

Then lifted her chin, tucked her earring into her handbag and continued walking, her high heels clicking confidently along the polished floor.

After all, she'd just secured a multimillion dollar deal.

A little tassel fringe. A little drama. And a reminder that even the most polished women have their moments.
